Violin, viola and piano tuition with Fran Messenger
Fran Messenger A.G.S.M studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Her first studies are Violin and Viola.
She played professionally while also working as a Visiting Music Teacher. In time, she decided to concentrate on her teaching which she had grown to love, and quickly became very involved in individual, group, sectional and orchestral teaching.
Fran’s principle teaching is with violin and viola but she also provides beginner piano tuition.
She has a particular interest in teaching Early Years and with a philosophy of learning whilst having fun. Children will learn to read, write and play music through games, stories and songs, whilst acquiring a range of musical skills and achievements. Tutor material is selected on an individual basis to suit the student.

Students have the opportunity to be entered for music exams to encourage the development of their musical skills and understanding. These exams can provide a firm foundation for their musical journey. Fran enters students for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music or Trinity College Music examinations.
Fran has many years experience teaching Music in an Independent Preparatory school in a classroom setting and with orchestral and choir groups. She has experience organising many major school concerts and has prepared orchestras and choirs for external events.
Fran is part of a team of specialists which organises an annual Summer String Players course (now in its twelfth year), which takes place at The Ipswich School. This is ideal for young players who want to experience playing in a string orchestra and small chamber ensembles. The main emphasis is on developing performance and ensemble skills whilst at the same time having a great deal of fun.
Fran’s private lessons either take place at home in the Suffolk village of Monks Eleigh or at a local Independent school. Lessons can be given on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. There is some availability during the day for adult learners on Thursdays and Fridays.
