A 4/4 Violin.

Probably French. Labelled Joseph Guarnerius. Ex Military Band Violin.

​

Fully restored and with the top thinned and a new bass bar. This instrument shows the character of one that has spent an active life with the Military Band. It produces a beautiful sound.

Marcel Roux 3/4 Violin.

​

Labelled Marcel Roux Luthier a Lyon. Made in Miracourt, Paris in 1928. This example has a one piece back. Fitted with Dominant strings.

Small Lady Cello

​

This very pretty and delightfully easy to play cello was probably made in Saxony in the second half of the 19th Century. It is beautifully-sized for the smaller player and produces a pleasing warm tone with a power which belies its size. 

 

Strung with a combination of Magnacore and Larson Solo strings, it is beautifully sized for the smaller player.

Very interesting handmade instrument with a one piece back. Probably dates from the 19th Century. Fitted with Dominant strings.

Made in the workshops of Jerome Thibouville-Lamy (JTL), Miracourt, probably dating in the late 19th Century. One piece back. Fitted with Dominant strings.

4/4/ Boosey and Hawkes Cello

​

This Ex Military Band instrument, probably originating in Miracourt, is numbered 247 and dated 1941 on the Boosey and Hawkes label. It has been fully restored and its appearance suggests an active life.  This cello sings easily with a rich and powerful tone.

​

It is strung with a combination of Maganacore and Larson Solo strings.
